Hemp
Why would I choose hemp over medical cannabis?
Agricultural hemp has very low (legal, trace amounts) of THC, making it a more favorable choice for individuals who would like to experience the benefits of hemp without experiencing the “high” or psycho-toxicity that is associated with medical cannabis. In addition, Orozona Oils only sources it’s hemp from a reputable and established source that employ seed to shelf traceability in order to assure quality, safety and efficacy.
Is it legal to sell hemp-derived products?
Products that are manufactured from agricultural hemp, which contain less than 0.3% THC in dry weight, are exempt from the Federal Controlled Substances Act, therefore are not unlawful for distribution. All of Orozona Oils products are non-psychoactive and are derived from 100% industrial grade hemp. All products are third party tested for potency and show lab results under 0.30% THC.
What is the difference between hemp and marijuana?
Agricultural hemp has tall, bamboo like, thick stocks, very thin leaves, and little to no flowers. Defined as a cannabis plant containing less than 0.3% THC, hemp is grown mainly to make textiles, food & oils, and does not get you “high”. Growing agricultural hemp has fewer restrictions than marijuana, which allows to be grown in larger scales and outdoors.
Marijuana plants tend to be shorter plants and are grown for their flowers. The THC content is higher in these plants and is mainly used recreationally; however, some states have legislation in place to allow marijuana for medical use with a recommendation from a doctor.
Because of the restrictions regarding marijuana, growing these plants can be extremely difficult and leave an enormous carbon footprint, depending on the growing practices.
Is there a difference between hemp seed oil and hemp oil?
Hemp seed oil is manufactured from hemp seeds alone. It contains very low to no concentration of cannabinoids. Hemp seed oil may be used in beauty products, lubricants, paints, and as a food.
Orozona Oils hemp oil on the other hand, is an extraction from the aerial parts of the agricultural hemp plant. This oil contains higher concentrations of phytocannabinoids such as CBD.
Why should I choose full-spectrum hemp Vs. CBD isolate?
Hemp naturally supplies over 400 compounds like cannabidiol (CBD), secondary phytocannabinoids, as well as terpenoids, terpenes, and flavonoids. These compounds work synergistically to enhance the beneficial effects of cannabidiol. That’s why Orozona Oils only utilizes whole-plant hemp extracts in our product line.
We liken CBD isolate on the other hand to the “white bread” of CBD. It has undergone extreme refinement where all of the other nutrient dense compounds inherent in the hemp plant have been removed and you are left with single molecule cannabidiol- a refined white powder (isolated CBD), rather than a rich gold oil (whole plant cannabidiol).
Think sprouted grain vs. white bread. A 2015 Israeli study yielded noteworthy findings of clinical applications of whole plant vs. isolated CBD. Researchers found that when participants were given isolated CBD, the benefits ceased, after both low and high dose administration. The whole plant CBD however had an immediate and direct effect on pain and inflammation. Furthermore, the whole plant CBD was responsive to various dosage quantities, and much less was necessary to produce the same results.

What is CBD?
Cannabidiol (CBD) is a promising phytocannabinoid found in the cannabis and/or agricultural hemp plant. It is recognized for its benefits on human and animal health and is capable of affecting nearly every biological process via the endocannabinoid system (ECS).
What is the endocannabinoid system (ECS)?
The endocannabinoid system (ECS) refers to endocannabinoids, the enzymes that regulate their production and degradation, and their receptors. Endocannabinoids are likened to messengers, isolated from brain and peripheral tissues that communicate via cannabinoid receptors.
They are found in the brain, organs, connective tissues, glands, and immune cells. With its complex actions in our immune system, nervous system, and virtually all of the body’s organs, endocannabinoids have been said to be a literal bridge between the body and mind.
Can CBD get me high?
With its remarkable safety profile, you can’t get high from CBD. It is a phytocannabinoid that is non-psycho- toxic (it does not produce a feeling of euphoria).
What is the entourage effect?
This is the enhancing, synergistic effect that occurs when the full spectrum of cannabinoids, terpenes, and botanical compounds are consumed together through “whole plant” material vs. isolated compounds.
What are the benefits and risks of taking CBD oil?
Because CBD is not an FDA regulated substance, we cannot make definitive claims on its benefits. We encourage you to perform your research, to which there are vast resources, evidence and case reports widely available.
You are also encouraged to consult with your physician if you are currently on any other form of medication or have concerns about incorporating CBD into your supplement regimen.
